The daughter of a king with no sons, Queen Seondeok was selected by her father to rule the kingdom of Silla (southeastern Korea).  Seondeok ruled from 632 to 647, keeping the kingdom together despite attempted invasions from neighboring kingdoms. She also built Cheomseongdae, the first observatory in East Asia.   Queen Seondeok’s successful reign paved the way for two additional queen regents in Silla: Jindeok (647-654) and Jinseong (887-897).

She’s one the smartest women in hollywood, she knows politics and human rights as well as any progressive politician. I’ve watched a lot of her interviews and she knows her shit. Hell I’ve watched the View just to see her put the fucking shut-down on her idiot co-hosts. I love this person. She’s like Guinan irl.  ok sorry, just had to put that out there. I mean I loved Sister Act too, but Whoopi defended Roman Polanski (remember “It’s not rape-rape”?) and (iirc) Chris Brown.  I guess what I’m saying is she’s cool but she needs to shut the fuck up with her opinion on rapists.
